How we prepare students for union apprenticeships in skilled and technical trades

The Apprenticeship Readiness Program (ARP) introduces students ages 18 and older to careers in the skilled trades and construction industry. Through hands-on training, industry-recognized certifications, and career preparation, ARP helps students gain the experience and confidence needed to pursue union apprenticeships and living-wage jobs in the trades.

Program Eligibility

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in SDCCE’s Apprenticeship Readiness Program
  • Must attend an ARP orientation and complete all intake steps
  • Must be committed to pursuing a skilled trades or construction career
  • Must complete all program requirements, including safety training and career readiness
  • Must maintain satisfactory progress and actively engage with job placement services
