How We Support Black Students
The Black Student Success Program (BSSP) is dedicated to uplifting and empowering
Black students at SDCCE. We offer culturally responsive support through mentorship,
academic guidance, mental health resources, and community-building events. Our goal
is to promote belonging, persistence, and success by addressing the unique experiences
of Black students in education and beyond.
Program Impact:

students participated in BSSP workshops, cultural events, and activities

students received one-on-one academic counseling, mentoring, or case management support (including unduplicated email correspondence)

students were connected to job placements, internships, or academic opportunities
