Welcome to the Counseling Department

The SDCCE Counseling Department is committed to student success by providing equitable access to counseling and support services, using a student-centered approach in the following areas; career and academic advising, goal setting, educational planning, and counseling workshops.

Counselors Assist With

  1. Certificate Program Guidance: Providing information on certificate programs, including requirements and pathways to completion.

  2. Educational and Career Goal Setting: Assisting students in identifying and clarifying their educational and career objectives.

  3. Educational Planning: Developing personalized educational plans that align with students' goals and program requirements.

  4. Follow-Up Services: Offering ongoing support to monitor student progress and adjust plans as needed.

  5. High School/High School Equivalency Support: Providing counseling for students pursuing high school diplomas or equivalency certifications.

  6. Credit by Exam Agreements: Providing information and guidance regarding opportunities for students to earn college credit.

  7. Transition to College: Supporting students in transitioning from SDCCE to credit colleges.

  8. Scholarship and Promise Applications: Guiding students through the application processes for scholarships and the San Diego Promise program.

  9. Graduation Requirements and Commencement: Helping students understand and meet graduation requirements and prepare for commencement.

  10. Referral to Resources: Connecting students with internal and/ or external resources for additional support services.

Counselors provide classroom presentations, available upon request.

Appointments 

Students who have applied for San Diego College of Continuing Education and have a CSID# may schedule a counseling appointment.

  • For In-person appointment: Call preferred campus to schedule an appointment. See the campus locations and campus contact information below. 
  • For Online Zoom Appointments: To schedule an appointment online you will need:
    • Student ID # and date of birth to schedule the appointment.
