This course focuses on building emerging English listening, speaking, reading, and
writing skills at the beginning literacy level. Instruction includes development of
basic literacy skills and communication for everyday living to help the learner progress
towards their personal, academic and/or professional goals. Workplace readiness skills
which include critical thinking, diversity awareness and soft skills are integrated
