This course provides students with a basic overview of the role of a behavioral health
aide and prepares them for entry-level employment. The course defines behavioral and
mental health diseases, their causes, signs and symptoms, and prognosis. Students
are trained to assist adults, adolescents, and pediatric patients with social, personal,
behavioral, and mental health issues. Students will learn strategies for working with
individuals with mental and behavioral health challenges while providing nursing care
