Free Tuition

Yes, It’s Really Tuition-Free

San Diego College of Continuing Education proudly offers tuition-free noncredit programs, thanks to funding from the State of California. Whether you're learning English, training for a new career, or exploring a personal interest, you can get started without paying tuition.

What’s Covered

You don't pay tuition for any courses offered by SDCCE. No enrollment or registration fees. No residency requirements or tuition hikes for out-of-state students. No cost for attending orientation or basic academic support services.

What’s Not Covered

Although tuition is always free, there are still some expenses that aren’t covered by the state. These may include:
  • Course materials (e.g., textbooks, workbooks, tools)
  • Supplies (e.g., uniforms, art supplies, lab equipment)
  • Optional certifications, exams, or licensing fees
  • Transportation or child care
  • Technology access (for online learning)

Some programs may provide free or low-cost materials—check with your program or instructor for details.
